Hair tutorial: How to make a wig for Beginner?
It is difficult and time-wasting work to make a wig everyday, so most of the wig users get their wigs done by professional hairstylist. If you are beginner and trying to make a wig yourself, here is the hair tutorial for your reference.
The things need to be prepared
- Virgin hair bundles
- Closure & frontal
- Mesh Dome Cap
- Marker (white or metallic)
- Mannequin head
- Curved needle
- Scissors
- T pins
When all the tools are well prepared, it is exciting time to customized the lace wig on your own hands without paying the extra expends. Please note the first time to make a wig maybe is a learning process that everybody goes through even the professional hairstylists.
How many bundles should I use to make a full wig?
8”-14” (2 bundles, frontal/closure)
16”-26” (3 bundles, frontal/closure)
28”-40” (4 bundles, frontal/closure)
The quantities of the bundles is depends on the lace size(13*4 frontal, 4*4 closure) or the length you want.
How long does it take to make a wig?
For the first time, the wig may take 4 hours to be finished, and the process need your patience . When you handle and become familiar with making wigs, you will have the wig done 1 hours or less.
Step 1. Put the lace closure or frontal on the Mesh Dome Cap
After the stable the Mannequin head, please put the wig cap on it and choose the right place for the lace closure or lace frontal.
Step 2: Pick up the needle and knot it onto the lace
Pick up the right needle you need which is depends on the Strands you want, for the single strands you can use the small one, for double or more strands , please take the larger one.
Knot the strands of the lace once or twice onto the cotton edge of the cap. Make sure that the knot is fully tightened.
Step 3 Using the Straight Needle to stable the hair and Knot it onto the lace
Using the Straight needles to free your hands and approximately generate the length of the hair needed. Then using the curved needle to knot the strands into the lace, double knots is suggested to use for the bottom gaps.
Step 4 Keep knotting the hair until the hair is onto same place of the closure.
Knotting the hair bundles step by step which is familiar with the step 3. If you want the wig looks more natural, the hair bundles maybe knotted onto same lace of the closure. And the customized wig would be finished after few minutes.
Step 5 Bleaching and parting the hairline of the wig.
Beach the knot of the lace would make the wig looks like more natural , and parting the space the hair lace as you like, side part, middles part or three part.
